One of the highlights of attending ALADN is the sharing of ideas and learning from our peers. ALADN encourages attendees to share and learn by participating in the Communications Exchange
WHAT IS THE Communications Exchange?
The Communications Exchange is a designated space for conference goers to see, touch, and collect examples of marketing and communication materials provided by other conference goers.
This year’s Communications Exchange will include examples of materials in the following categories:
- Acknowledgment Letters
- Annual Fund Materials
- Annual Reports
- Capital Campaign Materials
- Case Statements
- Collections Materials
- Friends of the Libraries
- Holiday Cards
- Library Public Relations Materials
- Marketing Samples
- Special Events (invitations, programs, etc.)
- Stewardship Materials
- Social Media Campaigns (NEW) – Examples of how you’ve leveraged social media to support your goals (Facebook , Twitter, Instagram, Crowdfunding, etc.)
- Anything innovative you want to share!
HOW TO PARTICIPATE?
You can share copies of your materials to be displayed in the Communications Exchange, or submit up to three examples for a ALADN Communication Award. For materials to be displayed, please include enough for ALADN attendees to pick up and keep. If you don’t want the materials picked up by guests, be sure to clearly note that when shipping them.
There are two ways to include your library’s materials in the 2016 ALADN Communications Exchange:
Just Ship It! – Please ship your materials in small boxes. Materials should arrive no earlier than Sunday, May 29, 2016 and be received no later than Wednesday, June 1, 2016. We will start setting up the Marketplace on Thursday, June 2, 2016
The mailing address is:
Hyatt Regency Boston
Attn: ALADN June 2016
Brittany Pedersen, ALADN Marketplace
One Avenue de Lafayette
Boston, MA 02111
Bring It With You! You can bring materials with you IF they are not being considered for an award. If you plan to bring your materials with you, please help with the marketplace set-up by dropping items off at the ALADN Conference registration desk when you check in. Materials (except those to be considered for awards) can be accepted through Noon Thursday, June 2, 2016.
Please label each piece or group of items with the appropriate marketplace category from the list above in which it should be displayed. If you choose to enter any for consideration for a ALADN Communication Award, please see the separate instructions and form used to identify appropriate pieces.
Pick up any remaining materials by 4 pm Saturday, June 4, 2016. Any materials left after this time will be recycled.
You may include shipping return supplies in your original shipment. These supplies will be held at the Communications Exchange for you to box up your leftovers for return shipment.
See you in Boston!
